About 100UP
"We the Photographers, in order to form a more perfect union."
To borrow the words of Presidential candidate Barack Obama, who is the son of a black man and a white woman.
Along that same principle of tolerance and synergy, Photographers of varied experience and style unite to form a group driven by the passion for great images and need for belongingness and recognition. A group committed to elevate the name "100UP" above others in the field of Photography, ultimately making it a common name among Filipino Photographers. Indeed, putting the name "on the lips of every Photographer." Along the process, the group is committed to help others in the related fields of Modeling, Make Up Artistry, and Fashion Design.
The vision is ambitious, but attainable. Tangible success have been had with various projects and activities undertaken towards its realization, one step at a time. Indeed "just doing it" seems to work well for the over-earger members of the group, of course, the officers putting checks and balance and order as quickly as the action unfolds. Doing so ensures that the mission of 100UP, i.e., to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment, permeates the entire conduct of the activity. The obvious benefit is that every individual member-photographer has the opportunity to learn or further advance knowledge about photography and thereby hone skills that will develop self-confidence and personal growth as a photographer.
100UP is organized also to help aspiring models, makeup artists and designers to find fulfillment of their aspirations, possibly also helping them to attain renown as professional artists.
In order to carry out this mission and attain the vision, 100UP shall:
- Provide for studio and on-location shoots, with and without models.
- Hold exhibits via the internet/intranet, or any other medium.
- Maintain a Photobase (or "pool") for 100UP use.
- Share individual knowledge about photography and related disciplines.
- Hold regular gatherings to build camaraderie.
- Sponsor photo contests for its members.
- Conduct training or seminars for the benefit of its members.
- Conduct model/makeup artist/designer Searches.
- Make every effort to promote the name, values, and activities of the group
On the web, the purpose of www.100-UP.org is to provide an online presence where interested individuals may learn more about the group, its members and the activities that they conduct. It is also designed to enable people to give feedback and inquire about membership and possible support to or from the group. It also has a forum where the group can post photos, activities, and other relevant information and topics.
100UP will maintain maximum of 100 members only.
